We left Los Angeles at 1:00pm on Air Tahiti Nui
flight #001. The flight was fine although a little cramped (for
those of you who tend to fly in business/first class, you would
definitely be cramped! ;) however we didn't want to shell out
$700 per person, and for only a one-way upgrade
)

After two movies, two meals, and a nice nap, we arrived at
the Faaa Airport in Papeete, Tahiti at around 6:30pm, Polynesia
time (3 hours behind Pacific time). After going through customs
we were immediately greeted with flower leis. We had a scheduled
flight from Papeete to the island of Moorea on an inter-island
airline called Air Moorea at 8:00pm. It was on a puddle jumper
that sat about 10 people max. Since all the passengers showed
up early, the flight just left at 7:00pm, a whole hour early,
obviously it was just waiting for the passengers from our plane!
just arrived in tahiti and already leid!

We arrived in Moorea during sunset and met with our transfers
who took us to our hotel, the Intercontinental
Beachcomber Resort. We arrived just past 8pm (and were greeted
with delicious cocktails) and checked into our beautiful beach
bungalow. The room was gorgeous. All Polynesian décor,
polished wood floors, frosted Japanese style sliding doors,
a door-less shower, and a balcony/porch just steps away from
a crystal clear blue lagoon! After gathering our bearings, we
went to the hotel café and had a late dinner. (The food
at the Intercontinental, by the way, was fabulous.)
