Once again, we woke up to a beautiful and bright
sunrise. At 8:00am we met with Thierry and Nico for our morning
dive - a Manta Ray dive! The mantas get cleaned every morning
at the same spot so we were quite lucky today as we saw 7 or
8 mantas. What beautiful creatures they are.

Then at 10:00am we went for a second dive
with
the sharks. We saw grey and black tip sharks as well as a rare
Leaf Fish. After the dive, Thierry asked us a favor to pose
for some scuba shots to put on their website. We thought it
would be fun so we did

We then had lunch and did some snorkeling right
outside of our bungalow. The fish here are very friendly and
are not afraid of people AT ALL. We then read for about 2 hours
on our deck, fed more fish, and for the second time, attracted
a reef shark once again. We're not sure if the shark ate a fish
this time though

In the late afternoon, we packed our bags then went to the
bar for some drinks. We ended up having cocktails with Thierry
and Nico for over an hour, chit chatting mainly about humiliating
experiences in life (i.e. Thierry's stag parties and French
Naval stories). All very entertaining. What was really nice
was he downloaded all the pictures he took from diving today
onto our memory card, so we now have some gorgeous shots, especially
of the mantas.
We then had dinner and it just so happened that all the guests
at the hotel were having dinner at the same time - all 16 of
us. That's what we love about this place. Manihi is VERY quiet
and VERY remote with VERY few people.
Of course, after the dinner we did the usual and watched more
stars until we both fell asleep on our lounge chairs underneath
the beautiful starlit sky.
onto day 7...
